Seventeen to go

Seventeen more. I have so much to do in the office. It's difficult to comprehend that someone will continue doing "my work" but it's likely that I won't have anyone to "pass my work to", as it were. What most retirees realize? Will all just sit there until another secretary materilizes? MY GOD! I have to get those files sent to my own PC. Thank goodness for Flash drives. I'd better start that. And will I get all my assignments completed? Does it matter? Amidst my life other things matter for sure. Like this:

A sad and horrific occurrence of the day. Rodger was killed in Key West last Thursday.

Rodger retired five years ago. He was an orchid expert, an instinctual horticulturist, a distinct human being. A friend. Helpful. Sad. Doing good with his life with tragedy behind him.
